ARCA, Incorporated

Organization Description:

ARCA is an acronym for Accepting Responsibility, Changing Attitudes. ARCA, Inc. was formed in 2005 when the Cleveland, Ohio division of Goodwill Industries was taken over by the Canton, Ohio division. The new governing body had no desire to continue the correctional programs that Cleveland had been so successfully operating for so many years. The CEO and the Director of Rehabilitation, therefore, left the organization and fomed ARCA, taking the halfway house for female ex-offenders with them and formed ARCA. The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction transferred the contract for community corrections to ARCA. Since that time, the ARCA House has become accredited by the American Correctional Association and ARCA has also started an employment
program for foster children who are aging out of the system and becoming independent. Recently, ARCA was awarded a small grant by the State of Ohio to start a Fatherhood program for fathers and their children.
