Camp YouthHope

Organization Description:

Camp YouthHope operates primarily June through July as a residential camp for inner city youth of the Quad Cities. The rest of the months our facilities are used for retreats by our children and youth groups. We also rent out our facilities to user groups such as scrapbookers, quilters, churches, etc. for their retreats and events.

Camp YouthHope is part of a larger ministry that ministers to children and teens in East Moline, Moline and Rock Island through ministry in two youth centers. At the youth centers ministry is occurring from the time the kids get out of school till often 9PM 6 days a week. There are a multitude of opportunities to get involved in tutoring programs, bible studies, sports programs, mentoring, etc.

Mission Statement:

Our camp provides a place for kids and teens to withdraw from the pressures and temptations of the streets. At camp, we utilize nature and time to focus on truth to impact their lives. The proximity of Camp YouthHope to the Quad Cities allows us to provide many alternative activities for our kids and teens including: cook-outs, retreats, day camp, week-long residential camp, work trips and nature exploration.

Camp YouthHope opened in 2001 as a part of our ministry to low income families. Urban kids have an alarming deficit of experiences outside their neighborhoods and housing complexes. Experiences at Camp YouthHope are vital to their development and pursuit of God through retreats, cookouts or even a whole week of camp. These children are forever changed by the experience camp offers them. Campers can find challenges to help them grow and reach the next level of personal development and discover who they are created to be in Jesus Christ.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

Statement of Faith

The Christian beliefs of CF are set forth in the following Statement of Faith:

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

• We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

• We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

• We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

• We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

• We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

• We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

• We believe in a monogamous marriage between one man and one women as the only biblically based marriage.
