Alpha & Omega Freedom Ministries, Inc

Organization Description:

AOFM, INC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We work with domestic violence victims and homeless women and children. We start at Hannah's House, a 5 bedroom ranch home which sleeps up to 17. When the women come to us, they are generally emotionally unstable, no income, no jobs and some with very limited education. We help them stabilize in Hannah's House and when they are ready--with a new job, they may move to Hannah's House Complex to further their education, job skills and budgeting skills. If they need further counseling, which many do, it continues at the apartment complex. This allows the women in our care to financially get back on their feet prior to leaving our complex. Many have received CNA , completed GED program, got jobs and found an apartment in the community that they can make it on their own. We do this through Anger management, domestic violence victim's counseling, substance abuse counseling, improving their self esteem, parenting, educational and vocational counseling and on-the-job training. We also offer budgeting and nutritional classes. We also work with the community to provide parenting, anger management and domestic violence classes for the abuser as well as those court ordered or referred to us by Department of Children and Families.
