Wycliffe Associates

Organization Description:

For over 40 years, Wycliffe Associates has supported the worldwide efforts of Bible translation by recruiting and mobilizing lay people to offer practical assistance that frees up missionary linguists from tasks that take them away from translation work.

Today, thousands of Wycliffe Associates partners and friends help accelerate translation efforts through dedicated service in numerous areas of ministry through prayer, financial giving, and logistical support.

At home and abroad, Wycliffe Associates volunteers provide thousands of hours and millions of dollars worth of work for the cause of Bible translation. For example, a repair or building improvement project that would take a Bible translator, unskilled in construction, two hours to complete, could take a volunteer, skilled in carpentry, an hour or perhaps even less.

Hundreds of these volunteers will be sent to countries around the world to enable Bible translators to focus their full energies on translating God?s Word. These volunteers will give the precious gift of time and directly accelerate the work of Bible translation by building and renovating facilities, constructing roads and airstrips, overseeing various projects, doing office work, using their computer skills, teaching in Vacation Bible Schools, and much more . . .

These efforts are dedicated to support and advance one of the greatest enterprises in the world? Bible translation!
