Research Project

The project will be to create a baseline data report on the current volunteer coordinators and programs across the territories. In accordance with the sites that have coordinators, I will track how many of which accept the invitation to collaborate with Christianvolunteering.org by linking opportunities on their website. Then I will begin to track the volunteers and site traffic. The purpose of the project will be to see an actual increase in volunteer matching, programs and partnerships.

Individual Development Plan

My IDP goals will be to increase my knowledge of web-based volunteer matching and the use of technology regarding training and preparation use. I will develop more intensified volunteer coordinating and volunteer training skills. An increase in the overall amount of volunteers matched and linked to organizations will be another goal, along with creating a database of all VC contact information, training materials and informational guidelines for following volunteer coordinators. I plan to develop presentation materials to encourage the promotion of the websites and increased volunteer opportunities. Recruiting these organizations will help me to increase my networking skills and indirectly strengthen networking channels between the volunteer and opportunities. I will develop a toolkit for the Salvation Army on the use and maintenance of the website. In that toolkit will be a presentation on setting up the account, managing, and adding and deleting opportunities. A screencast using uTipu.com, a webpage and a tutorial document will also be included.
