History of Nepal Children Welfare Association


Nepal Children Welfare Association (NCWA) began when Pastor Krishna and his wife were called by God to rescue orphaned and abandoned children of Nepal.
NCWA (The Home of Faith), opened in 2001 to provide love and total care for 30 children. Within a few years that facility was not adequate to meet the urgent need, and NCWA in concert with other ministries, build a home for orphans, just a block from the other one that would accommodate 60 homeless children.
The ministry of NCWA is the catalyst that God uses to assist local churches in many nations in rescuing the orphans and abandoned little ones--God's kids--in their communities.
Depending on the location, the amount of volunteer church labor and the building supplies available, the home cost $60,000 for 30-60 children.
The ministry has many opportunities to greatly increase that number in the years ahead. The vision of NCWA is to cover the globe with Christ-centered, church-based orphan homes that are staffed by godly men and women who place a high value on each and every child




2. Statement of Problem
South Asia, which is burdened with one of the lowest human development indicators and increasing socio-economic inequalities, is home to the world?s second largest number of people on the movement of refugee, displaced persons due to normal disasters or other factors including conflicts, uprooted people as well as economic migrants has made the countries more prone to complex challenges.

Ten years of conflict has introduced Nepal to brutal atrocities. Numerous innocent people have lost their lives, been injured, arrested, abducted in addition people have lost their family members and loved ones. People have lost their sense of security; their rights and some have even lost their surviving mechanisms.

Conflict affected children and women are coming up as one of the major problem in the country; it is slowly shaping into a greater size immensely affecting their lives, which is a grave matter of concern for all. Victim children and women not only go through the adjustment problem in a totally new surrounding but they are also exposed to several other vulnerabilities and scarcities.
As a result, they have deprived form education and food. Without being aware of the magnitude of vast problems waiting for them, they are situation which they expected to be safer and easier destination they are faced with numerous problems such as flooding, deprivation of basic health, hygiene and nutrition, psychosocial problems, adjustment problems etc. Affected children are even exposed to social problems already exiting in the cities such as trafficking, drug abuse, sexual exploitation etc. The problem of child exploitation already exists in cities of Nepal. N a condition like this, food and education opportunities for conflict affected children and women with limited required skill, is almost impossible.

The need of the children widow women due to armed conflict is great but sadly, the government, civil societies and other social organization has been able to proved only limited relief to these people. Most of them have been denied of help because they are not able to prove that they have been victimized due to conflict while some of them do not to reveal that they are victimized due to security reasons.

Women have become widow due to the conflict irrigated in the country. Their children have been living in harsh situation with no way out due to present situation of conflict and displacement. The apathy from government sector and from other sectors including civil society has overlooked the magnitude of problem among widow women and children caused by the situation and their problem among widow women and children cause by the situation and their problem potentialities. Lack of access to opportunities for victimized women and children and unequal distribution of recourse among people have intensified huge gap between people. This has caused emergence of multidimensional problems such as involvement in drug abuse, commercial sex work, robbery, frustration, behavioral disorders etc.
For that reason, we think it si necessary to work with victim, children and widow and harness their potentials for a positive outcome.
