Mission Year
Mission Year is a year long program where Christian young people live in an urban neighborhood volunteering, worshiping, and loving their neighbors.
It is an opportunity for 18 to 29 year olds, both single and married, to spend a year following Jesus' command to "Love the Lord your God, and love your neighbor as yourself." By partnering with a local church, volunteering at a service site, and spending time with neighbors, Mission Year team members effectivey impact their communities while catching a deeper vision for what the Kingdowm of God is like.
Mission Year is a dynamic movement of believers dedicated to building the Kingdom of God through sacrificial service. Every day our Team Members put their faith into action in inner-city neighborhoods across the nation, providing a powerful combination of community service and Christian love. They tutor, build, nurture, repair, encourage, assist, organize, teach, learn from, listen to, and pray with all kinds of people, all in the name of Jesus.
Inevitably, participating in this annual campaign of faith, hope, and love transforms our Team Members in a profound and lasting way, so that Mission Year's greatest legacy may be found in the lives of our Alums around the world. Nevertheless, our primary goal remains the same: to recruit, train, and deploy committed Christian young people in such a way that they can make a genuinely positive impact on their inner-city neighborhoods and on their inner-city neighbors this year.
