HEARTH

Organization Description: 

HEARTH is a non-profit housing organization serving Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. We are located in Ross Township just off the Perrysville Avenue exit of I-279 North.

We have a 2-year transitional housing program for homeless women with children called Benedictine Place. As part of the program, the moms must enroll in some type of post-secondary education program. The goal is, upon completion of their program, they will be able to get a good job and support their families on their own.

The women must also meet individually with a case manager every week to set goals and discuss resources to help them reach their goals. They also meet as a group every week for life skills training in topics such as communication skills, parenting, and budgeting.
