Jabez Ministries, Incorporated

Organization Description:

JMI provides programs and activities for elementary, junior high and high school students. Our stakeholders are in the Chicago Heights and Ford Heights, Illinois School Districts. In both communities students are marred by low socio-economic conditions and attend low-performing schools where 95% of the student body qualify for free hot lunch. To help counter these effects, JMI offers programs such as E.X.C.E.L. and A-Cubed. The E.X.C.E.L. Program mentors “at-risk” teens (dropouts and truants) through education (GED completion), life skills development, continuing education stipends, job training and placement. The A-Cubed Program targets academically challenged youth 14 and under, and focuses on academic remediation and instruction, the arts, and athletics.
