Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity

Organization Description:

Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, was founded in 1987. We are an ecumenical Christian organization which fosters community so that we can eliminate poverty housing. We offer a hand up, not a hand out to families who live within 30%-50% of the median area income, through affordable homeownership. All Habitat homeowners have a zero percent interest mortgage which is less than one-third of their monthly income.
70% of Santa Fe Habitat homes are built by volunteers which helps keep building costs low. On average, we build 5-7 homes per year in Santa Fe County.
The Santa Fe Habitat ReStore sells recycled building supplies and furniture at discounted prices. Profits from the ReStore support the building of new homes. We are a volunteer based organization whether you build a house, work in the ReStore or in the office, our organization cannot meet our mission without your help.
