Project417
Project417 is a street outreach program founded by Rev. Joe Elkerton and Ekklesia Inner City Ministries. We have served the homeless out on the streets of Toronto since 1992 - we minister to the homeless, the street involved, including youth, and people living in poverty at risk of facing homelessness.
The Vision -- To create a community which is accessible to all who are in need. To develop and implement programs and ministries which seek to enable people to move into healthier lifestyles.
Core Values --
*We believe that all people are created and loved by God.
*We believe that people have priority over money, structures, systems and other institutions.
*We must act in ways that respect the dignity, uniqueness and intrinsic worth of every person.
*We will celebrate the richness of diversity in all humanity.
Project417 - Ekklesia Inner City Ministries is faith-based and receives no government funding or subsidies.

Our Mission
Project417 is an outreach program of Ekklesia Inner City Ministries, a registered non-profit Christian charity in Canada with programs primarily in the Toronto Area, with mission trips across Canada and to the U.S. We host volunteers and guide them in meaningful programs which meet the homeless where they live - out on the street, in shelters or drop-ins and food banks. During disaster recovery efforts we assist the homeless with relief meal programs (food and water) and house re-building / renovation /repair. Homelessness and poverty affect us all. We all must play a role in rebuilding our communities.
We affirm the historic Christian faith as expressed in the Apostle's creed, and in particular:
We believe that all humanity is created in the image of God.
We believe in the redemptive and reconciliatory work of Jesus Christ.
We believe that Christians are to be agents of reconciliation and healing, both individually and socially.
