Operation Exodus Inner City, Inc.
Over the years, Exodus has grown to provide a range of programming tailored to the specific needs of the children and parents we serve. We currently operate the following programs and activities:
After School Program: Our flagship After School Program serves approximately 150 students five days per week from 3-7pm, September through June. The goal of the program is to equip our students with grade level skills, while at the same time, provide a safe space where children can be themselves.
Saturday Mentoring Program: Over 40 volunteers from various professional fields volunteer their time on Saturdays to mentor our students. The volunteers help the students with homework, aid in setting and achieving goals, and talk with them about careers and educational opportunities.
Full-day summer programming: Exodus provides an eight-week Summer Achievement Program from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., which offers academic reinforcement, recreational activities and excursions.
Health and Nutrition Services: We provide programs and services to teach our students the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Junk food is banned from our programs and extra emphasis is placed on physical exercise
Operation Exodus Inner City's mission is to promote spiritual growth, high educational achievement and leadership to underserved children, with an emphasis on the Latino community in Washington Heights, through quality after-school education, caring mentoring relationships, school placements, and parent workshops, all guided by the transforming power and values of Jesus Christ.
