New Hope Ministries/ Orphanage, Busia Uganda
New Hope Ministries is a grassroot, non-profit Christian organization based in Busia, Uganda, which provides direct care and support to orphans and other vulnerable children caught up in the twin crises of HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty. New Hope was founded in 2003 in response to the plight of millions of orphans left behind after their parents died of AIDS. New Hope provides the children with food, access to health care, shelter, education, psychosocial support, and livelihood skills training.
Currently, New Hope serves over 100 orphans and vulnerable children in Busia Town in South-Eastern Uganda. Over the past five years, New Hope has assisted hundreds of orphans and vulnerable children who would otherwise have had no place to go. Many of these children have been orphaned by AIDS, some have suffered physical and sexual abuse, and all have lived in extreme poverty.
