The first annual Sport E. Odie Charity Basketball Classic is set to place Saturday August 6th, 2011 with proceeds benefiting underprivileged and homeless children that attend Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Admission to the event is open to the public and free with a request of school supplies donation at the door. There are over 3,000 homeless children that attend Charlotte Mecklenburg School every year and the purpose of this charity event is to relieve some of the stress for those children when preparing for the new school year. We are collecting school supplies from people and various businessÂ’s. We plan to have this event annually and prepare to grow each year with our community to be able to help more and more children every year. We would love for the Double Trouble Twins to be involved in this event. The event will include two basketball games and a three-point shootout contest and a dunk contest.
At the event there will also be various booths lending literature for parents, with young children as well for high school students who plan to attend college. The event will be worked by all volunteers in our community including four prominent djÂ’s in Charlotte, Dj Ace, Dj Ngenius, and Dj Phalse ID.
