Street LIFE Ministries
Street Life Ministries (SLM) began through the leadership and outreach of David and Robin Van Fleet in the Metro New York area since 1990. Motivated by Christian faith, their work during that time has focused on training volunteers and coordinating opportunities for youth and adults to serve all segments of New York City with a holistic approach, meeting emotional, spiritual and physical needs together. Street Life Ministries became an official not-for-profit, 501(c) (3) organization in February 1997. Since that date, Street Life Ministries has facilitated short-term outreach for thousands of individuals. The SLM staff trained these volunteers in distributing emergency food on the street, counseling, mercy ministry, homeless outreach, substance abuse intervention, and support activities to strengthen local New York ministries demonstrating the love of God to the abused, at-risk, and disadvantaged segments of our city.
Street Life Ministries is an organization of Christian Missionaries from a multi-ethnic and multi-denominational background who are dedicated wholly to the Lord Jesus Christ and committed fully to the completion of the Great Commission as stated in Mark 16:15, "Go ye into all the World and preach the Gospel to every creature".
We believe that God's Word, the Bible, is inspired and completely trustworthy. We believe in the "Trinity" as expressed through the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe God's Spirit dwells, by grace, in all who have repented of all known sin, confessed Jesus as Lord, received by faith the finished work of the cross and submit to Jesus Christ as God's Son and obey Him daily.
We believe, as heirs of Christ's Kingdom, that our supreme desires will be to know, love, worship, and obey the Lord Jesus Christ and to serve His Body, the Church.
We believe it is God's heart that ALL PEOPLES be presented with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that by His Grace, the Church shall stand with Him in Glory for all eternity!
