Family Promise of Harrisburg Capital Region
We have a network of congregations (interfaith) that serve families for 1 week at a time on a rotational basis. Congregations provide the lodging, meals, and volunteers for that week. During the day, families are transported to the Day Center where they apply for jobs, save money, participate in life skills and case management and look for housing among other goals.
Family Promise of Harrisburg Capital Region is a program for homeless families whose mission is to help homeless families achieve independence, to provide congregations with a variety of mission opportunities, to create initiatives that meet community needs, to give volunteers of all ages a meaningful way to help those in need, and to build public awareness of homelessness and the needs of low-income people.
