The Epworth Foundation
The Epworth Foundation was created in 2005 to act as the social gospel arm of Epworth United Methodist Church. The Church was founded int the late 1800's by Methodist Deaconess Melissa Briggs who was quoted in the Denver Post as having "created Denver's first Community Center". The rich history of mission, acts and deeds continued through the early 20th century with the founding of Denver's Goodwill Industries, to the latter part of the 20th century as an integral part of the creation of Denver Urban Ministries (DENum) This tradion of giving continues with The Epworth Foundation. We provide services to all who enter our doors, regardless of faith, creed, race, color or self-description, reaching over 12000 families and individuals each year. Through our program areas of Youth, Family, Hunger and Health, we strive to show how alive the Gospel is in us, by being doers of the Word.
To promote and support healthy families with an emphasis on children. Our hope is to ensure that the needs of the whole person are met, and to maintain the dignity of each person we serve.
To go from this place to love and serve the Lord,
through service to mankind
