Sustainable Bolivia

Organization Description:

WHO WE ARE Sustainable Bolivia is a non-profit organization with its main office in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Our primary objective is to provide Bolivian organizations much needed human and financial resources while providing international students and professionals the opportunity to gain practical work experience through internships and volunteer opportunities in Bolivia.

VOLUNTEER AND INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES By working closely with local people, volunteers and interns will make a positive difference in the lives of Bolivians in Cochabamba and its surrounding areas. All of our volunteer placements match individual skills and interests to local needs in order to provide the most rewarding experience. Volunteers and interns can contribute in a range of areas such as education, health, the environment, microfinance, womens empowerment, and much more.

SUSTAINABLE BOLIVIA LANGUAGE SCHOOL Study Spanish and Quechua with Sustainable Bolivias Language School. Our Spanish classes provide high quality instruction for students of all levels and ages. All the profits from our Spanish lessons are reinvested to help support the work of our organization. Our philosophy facilitates a positive studying environment while allowing us to employ the most qualified teachers in Cochabamba.

MINI GRANT PROGRAM The mini grant program was established to strengthen our financial commitment to our partners. Each volunteer/intern is given $75 per month to help fund a project or purchase goods at his/her organization. This system further incorporates volunteers into the allocation of funds while increasing financial transparency.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM This program was established to provide scholarships to qualified Bolivian students who would otherwise be unable to attend university. Working with our partner organizations we select students based on need and academic achievement.
