Outreach Uganda
We work with over 200 women and their families, principally from the Acholi population of northern Uganda. In the remote area where one group of women is located, we partner with the entire community on the operation of its primary school which has 12 teachers and 400 students, and the community's clinic which serves 7000 people in the parish. We provide a child sponsorship program for children of our beaders and currently have 200 children sponsored so they can further their education. We also run a "Girls' Education Initiative" program in the Lamwo district of northern Uganda which strives to keep girls motivated and doing well in school to become future leaders in their communities. There are currently 96 girls in this program.
Our mission is to help impoverished Ugandans, especially women and children, overcome poverty through income-generation projects, education and training and other holistic endeavors.
We are not directly affiliated with any one church, but do receive support from several different churches in the U.S. Our board members are all Christians and have formed this nonprofit as a result of their faith and their calling to demonstrate their Christian faith while helping empower marginalized people in Africa to have the confidence, energy, and willpower to help themselves.
