Access Hospice
Access Hospice Care provides palliative care to people that are in the last phases of an incurable disease. Volunteers are a vital part of the team approach used by Access to provide the best possible care to our patients and their families. Volunteers provide many services such as: visiting with patients or families, running errands, light house work or light yard work, reading, singing or playing music for patients, administrative duties like filing, answering phones, or sending cards and letters to families. Volunteers bring comfort and reassurance to our patients and their families at a time when it is most needed.
We exist to provide symptom control and support for persons in the last phases of an incurable disease, so they may live as fully and as comfortably as posible. We hope and believe that through appropriate care and the support of a caring community sensitive to their needs, terminally ill patients and their families may be free to attain a degree of mental and spiritual preparation for death that is satisfactory to them.
