ACF UGANDA

Organization Description:

We would like to invite you to join us as a partner in ACF Uganda. ACF Uganda is dedicated to help disadvantaged children, youth and women in Uganda, Africa to overcome poverty and hopelessness.
ACF Uganda was formed to respond to the increasingly need for child protection programs, civil peace/liberties and community rehabilitation/construction in Uganda.

As you are aware, AIDS and persistence-armed rebellions continue to have a far greater impact on Africa than any other continent, and Uganda is no exceptional. Though Uganda has some promising results on the preventive measures, the disease impact have taken away a generation of fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, and friends. A new generation of innocent orphans is left behind with no one to fend for them. This is the major contributing factor to street children, prostitution, child headed families, child labour, HIV/AIDS infection, child soldiers, rebel factions, poverty, refugees, internally displaced persons and criminality. The Ugandan extended family system, like many other developing countries, has been the core support provider for such victims but combined with other social and economic pressures these families have been pushed to breaking point.

Our Primary vision is to address the issue of Human Rights and Civil Liberties through Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Social Reunion of children in conflict with the law (At Risk) i.e. in remand homes, juvenile prisons and reform Schools with their families/communities, Demobilization, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Resettlement of various categories of persons griped in armed rebellions, Education and Physical support and care to orphans, less privileged children and other vulnerable community members i.e. HIV/AIDS victims, elderly, rural women, youth and community socio economic rehabilitation programs.

Mission Statement:

ACF shall be a thriving Christian Community that models integrity, excellence, and compassion to mobilize and empower Africans worldwide to impact their generation and Africa.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

At ACF Uganda, we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, God Himself, and that He became completely man. Conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the virgin Mary. Jesus lived a sinless life, and chose to die as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people. He was bodily resurrected from the dead and appeared to many people. He now sits at the right hand of God? (the highest place of honor and power), interceding (standing in to provide protection) for the sins of His people (those who accepted him as Savior and Lord). He will come in glory to righteously judge all people based on their acceptance or rejection of Him.
