Organization Description:

ALHarvest is a Christian non-profit organisation who introduces people into outreach programs. We have a holistic approach in which the spiritual as well as physical, emotional, mental and social needs of people are attended to. One of the areas of involvement is the inner city of Pretoria. There is a huge demand for upliftment of especially homeless children due to family neglect, poverty and HIV-AIDS, among others.

Mission Statement:

To involve believers in God's harvest fields amongst the poor and destitute in the Inner City of Pretoria, South Africa.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

ALHarvest is founded on the Bible as the holy and infallible Word of God. The doctrine confessed by the organisation, in accordance with the Word of God, is formulated in:

1. The formulae of unity as stipulated at the Synod of Dort in 1618-1619, to wit the thirty seven articles of the Confessio Belgica, the Heidelberg Catechism and the five Canons of Dort, and

2. The Apostle ‚’s Creed as ecumenical creed.

3. Missionary Creed (Three dimensional model of missions)

Besides this Reformed statement of faith with its implied dimension of missions, ALHarvest, as a missionary organisation, would also like to have a specific creed concerning its missionary intentions. We choose the three-dimensional model of missions through which we declare that we want to be involved with the whole person, in his whole situation in answer to the full gospel. In practice these three dimensions boil down to the following: 1) Kerugma - Evangelism and proclamation through word and deed; 2) Diakonia - Social involvement including Poor Relief; 3) Koinonia - qualitative growth aimed at taking part in God ‚’s mission, including spiritual renewal, structural development, unity and brotherly love.
