All About Family

Organization Description:

All About Family originally started as a way for Dads and Kids to spend quality time together. We originally named the group Dads and Kids - Kids and Dads. We expanded to include entire families and anyone else interested in participating in community activities. All About Family offers parents, guardians and community members an opportunity to build community together while participating in an activity where no or very minimal cost is involved. People from a broad range of ethnic backgrounds attend our group and our events have always been very friendly and positive.

We meet on Saturdays in urban, suburban and rural settings for a predetermined activity. Many activities include a meal where we are able to receive sponsorship from a restaurant and all activities are completely open to all. We incorporate the arts as well as fun activities that include the broadest range of participants. There are activities that encompass volunteer work where we go as one group and impact a community program, whether it be feeding the homeless or wrapping presents for kids at Christmas time, we will continue to impact our communities as a group within many of our activities. This is also a way to teach children involvement in civic responsibility.

All About Family is currently looking not only for families to participate with us, but also for sponsors so that we can continue to offer these activities. These activities are sometimes FREE and sometimes there is a charge. They are Open to the Public through sponsorships developed by our relationships with neighborhood groups, community agencies, local area restaurants and businesses. A special consideration is taken to incorporate individuals who are elderly or disabled as they are valuable members of our society.
