Mission Statement:

The American Cancer Society?s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a 5-mile non-competitive walk in Central Park. Last year, this event raised $2.7 million and had 30,000 people in attendance from more than 2,000 New York City corporations, hospitals, municipalities, schools and community groups; in addition over 1,500 volunteers and staff were attending! This year, we are aiming even higher and expect 35,000 participants. Funds raised support the American Cancer Society?s life-saving programs in breast cancer research, early detection education, advocacy and improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
