American Caribbean Experience

Organization Description:

ACE is a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit organization whose focus is to help America's youth develop positive leadership skills by providing them with unique opportunities to share their talents and resources with people in developing countries.

Our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, by creating environments for workshops, educational and mentoring programs, and through vacations with purpose.

The "American-Caribbean Experience" is more than just another group trip with your friends from church or school! We believe in planning group trips with purpose. It is our goal to encourage participants in their pursuit of intimacy with God, and equip them in the development of community and influence with one another.

With more than 17 years experience behind us, we recognize the unique needs of working with youth and adults. Our experience proves that the right mix of education, work and entertainment creates the best trip you will ever experience!
We believe very strongly in the local church as the vehicle God has empowered to reach this world with the message of the cross. As such, we seek to develop relationships with indigenous local churches to have any and all ministry run through them. Long after the short term teams have come and gone the local church is who stays and carries on the work of the ministry in their spheres of influence. Therefore, all of our short term trips whether they be student or adult are done in concert with the local ministry efforts of churches that we have intentionally partnered with.

These partnerships are based on a myriad of criteria not the least of which would be a consistent adherence to and teaching of evangelical doctrine. There also must be a certain chemistry between the pastor and ACE. We are committed to building only one kingdom - God’s - not anyone else’s. We are very scrutinizing of our partner pastors for this reason. We want to see Jesus Christ brought to the island of Jamaica, not the United States or our lifestyle. Many pastors are enamored with the wealth of our nation and consequently the teams that come down. As such, we seek partnerships with pastors whose aspirations go no further than serving their local flocks and have shown consistent commitment to this end.

Mission Statement:

To lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ… by creating environments through vacations with a purpose, workshops, and educational and mentoring programs.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

About the Scriptures:

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, the Bible is without error.

About God:

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of our lost world.

About Mankind:

We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort.

About Salvation:

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his sin.

About the Christian Life:

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word and daily yielding to the Spirit, every believer should mature and become conformed to the image of Christ.

About the Church:

We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world.
