American Chinese Christian Educational and Social Services

Organization Description:

We are an organization that is established to enhance family life, increase Chinese immigrants' understanding of American culture, encourage communication between cultures, and communicate the Gospel through active caring and integration of Christian values into the curriculum. We are located in Chinatown, open five days a week. Programs include an afternoon school program (conducted in English) for children kindergarten through 5th grade, a mothers' group, adult English classes, income fax filing service, information/referral/translation, and family life workshops. Most of the adults we serve are Chinese speaking (Cantonese or Putonhgua or Fukienese). Most of the children were born in the U.S. Most families are of low income. Our board of directors is racially and linguistically diverse, as is our pool of volunteers and staff.

2. that the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are wholly the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and written by human hands;
3. man is created in the image of God, and that our first parents have ...sinned and fallen, and that the whole human race has been so sin-stricken and thus, lost iost spiritual life;
4. that the Lord Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, bled and died for the sin of all men...rose up from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven...that the Holy Spirit descended to convince men of sin...
