Appalachia Service Project

Organization Description:

Appalachia Service Project (ASP) is a home repair ministry that makes houses warmer, safer and drier at no cost to families in need, while offering life-changing experiences for the families, volunteers, and staff alike. Each year, ASP brings 15,000 volunteers from all over the country to repair 500 homes throughout 25 counties in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee.

High school students serve with our Youth Program during the summer, and adults Â? from college students to retirees Â? come to our Adult Program during the remainder of the year. Our ASP Tri-Cities program serves the counties surrounding our headquarters in Johnson City, TN, with day-long volunteer opportunities.

After returning from an ASP trip, our volunteersÂ? lives are forever altered by the profound things they discovered about themselves & their place in GodÂ?s world. They take their newfound passion for service back home, and they begin to transform their own communities and churches. ASP helps people discover their own power to create that ripple effect.
