arizonans for children
As of December 31, 2015 there were over 19,000 children in Arizonan who were in foster care due to some sort of maltreatment including physical abuse, neglect and abandonment. Many of these children are removed from their homes and placed in foster homes or group homes.
Our programs and services are available to all children in Maricopa County from infant to 18 years who are in the custody of Department of Child Safety living in group homes, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters or in private foster care. All clients are welcome regardless of race, color, religion, gender, national origin or disability.
Arizonans for Children, incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, exists to facilitate opportunities and provide effective solutions to alleviate hardships and improve the fragile lives of the abused, neglected and abandoned children in foster care. Sensitive to the day to day needs of children in protective custody, AFC has developed programs and trained volunteers to help stabilize and bring comfort to their complicated lives. Arizonans for Children operates three visitation centers in Peoria, Phoenix and Mesa. The centers are staffed by volunteers and they are designed for the purpose of family reunification.
