AseraCare Hospice

Organization Description:

Hospice is a program of palliative and supportive services that provide physical, psychosocial and/or spiritual care for terminally ill persons and their families. Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death, but rather affirms life, emphasizes dignity and enhances the quality of the remainder of a person's life.

Hospice care is a comprehensive, medically directed, team-oriented program that accentuates pain and symptom management - rather than curative treatment - for patients who no linger respond to routine medical care.

Hospice is about living. It treats the person, not the disease...focuses on the entire family, not just eh individual...adds life to days at a time when days can no longer be added to life.
