Bethany House of Northern Virginia, Inc.

Organization Description:

Our vision is to eliminate domestic violence one family at a time. Bethany House provides more than half of all emergency shelter, support services, and transitional living services reserved for victims of domestic violence and abuse in Fairfax County and other Northern Virginia jurisdictions. Bethany House maintains five shelters and transitional housing units, providing victims with the area’s most comprehensive program of support services and follow-up care available anywhere.

Bethany House provides services to survivors of domestic violence through a unique continuum of care. We want our clients to live self-sufficient, abuse-free lives. Our Family Assistance Program (FAP) is the heartbeat of what we do, and all funding is used to operate the FAP. The FAP is geared toward helping woman step forward and stay clear from abusive relationships. The program includes two emergency shelters (where a family stays for four to six months) and three transitional shelters (where women stay for up to two years.) The services are available to clients experiencing need without regard to age, race, religion, color, disability, national origin or other protected classifications.
