We make Scriptures available where there are none by translating, producing and distributing. We work to help the church engage with the Bible more effectively. And we endeavour - through the arts, education, media and politics - to make the Bible available, accessible and credible in our culture.

We offer the Bible to the world. Bible Society's mission is global. Our work is organised into two categories: domestic (England and Wales) and international (overseas).
We are part of an international fellowship of over 140 Bible Societies around the world, known as the United Bible Societies. Our entire international programme is delivered on the ground through the close relationship we have with each of our fellow Bible Societies.
Of course, we are as committed to encouraging the circulation and use of the Scriptures in England and Wales as to our international programme. It's just that the work might look different: in our contemporary culture, people can easily read the Bible should they wish to ? but 9 out of 10 currently choose not to. We think they're missing out and so we're working to change that. 36% of people don't think the Bible is relevant but they're open to changing their minds.
