The Bridge Collective

Organization Description:

The Bridge Collective started in November 2007. We are a church plant in London England reaching out to the broken and marginalised of society and the church. Many of the people we reach are jaded and disassociated Christians.

We are presently in a time of change where we are inviting new 'core' members to join us so that we can strengthen the church before reaching out increasingly to our community and subcultures.

Mission Statement:

The Bridge is a community of God that exists to connect with the subcultures, the forgotten, and those who have given up on church with the good news of Jesus in all of its forms.

We feel compelled to live out the revolutionary commands of Jesus to love God with all of our heart, mind, and soul and to love our neighbour as you love yourself (Matthew 22:37-39). Through His words and actions, Jesus taught and showed the world a better way to live, revealed what love looks like by accepting people right where they were with no strings attached.

We aim to love everyone, regardless of who they are, where they are in life, what they believe, and what they have done. No strings attached love means that there is no fine print to read. We aim to reveal the pure love of God to everyone we meet through words and actions. By choosing to love our neighbour as we love ourselves is to plant the seeds of revolution!

Therefore:

We believe in welcoming everyone to the love of God regardless of who they are and where they are in life, especially those who have been forgotten and ignored by society and the church.

We believe in celebrating diversity of expression and encouraging creativity in all forms of art and in all forms of music.

We believe in championing the cause of the poor and the homeless.

We believe in participating in the life of the local community by getting involved through community action, social issues, and networking with other organizations.

We believe in helping people become made whole and complete and become the people God has called them to be.

We believe in being a positive influence in the subcultures and the local community that we are a part.

We believe God has called us to establish likeminded communities across the U.K., Europe, and the world.
