Camden urban Ministry Initiative
CUMI is dedicated to helping the youth to develop the capacity to thrive despite a unfortunate situations of Camden. By building connections between the youth and with trained adults and opening dialogue among the youth, we believe the youth will mature into caring, successful adults that will stay involved and better the community of Camden, NJ. We provide an enriching, low cost summer day camp, a leadership training Skills-N-Drills program and various activities and events throughout the year.
The United Methodist Church officials are working together with the community to focus the churches' efforts into reversing the trends of failure commonly found in Camden youth development. They want to ensure implementation of effective and comprehensive programs that will provide long-lasting changes in Camden. This organization is determined to reach Camden City youth through outreach with structured activities, youth forums, leadership development and positive peer and adult relationships.
