Catholic Charities Service Corps
The Catholic Charities Service Corps offers young adults the opportunity to develop and share their gifts, education, and faith in a unique manner.
By participating in challenging, meaningful work and living in an intentional, simple community with other volunteers, lay men and women will explore how their faith can be more fully integrated into all aspects of their lives.
This experience allows young adults to respond to their own special calls to service, and examine the scope and causes of injustice as they work among people who are poor and marginalized.
Lastly, this one year of service will impact young adults decisions and choices for the rest of their lives.
The challenge to Catholic Charities Service Corps volunteers is to: develop and share their gifts, education, and faith in a unique manner; participate in challenging, meaningful work; live in an intentional simple community with other volunteers; explore how their faith can be more fully integrated into all aspects of their lives; and respond to their own special call to service by working among their marginalized brothers and sisters, while examining the scope and causes of injustice in the world.
While respecting individual freedom, we recognize that, for the Catholic Charities Service Corps (CCSC) experience to be transformative, we?each volunteer as well as the Program Director?must be willing to commit ourselves to certain goals. We are called to share our gifts in a community context, to live simply and to struggle for justice, all in the name of our faith
