Caye Caulker High School

Organization Description:

This is a faith mission school and all our teachers raise their own support. We expect to begin in September 2008 with 9th grade, and add a grade every year until we have all four grades running.
Christian education has gained a large measure of acceptance in Belize. The national curriculum guidelines make plenty of room for Christian content.

Future students eagerly look forward to the opening of our mission high school. Now that we have classrooms ready and land to grow on, they are happy that they will be able to spend their life-changing high school years here. Caye Caulker High School is a private school where we will teach all subjects as best we can from a Christian and biblical perspective. However, it will not be a sheltered education. We will present other options that students will face in Belize, and explain why we choose what we believe to be the Christian option-- emphasizing that students are responsible for making their own choices. We believe that those who choose Christ will show the others what a huge difference He makes in their lives.

Mission Statement:

The purpose of this mission has always been :To lead people into the Kingdom of God and equip them to find and fulfill their callings, for the benefit of others and for the glory of Jesus Christ . Our high school will prepare students for their responsibilities to God, family, church, workplace, community, nation and world.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, inerrant, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God created the world out of nothing and is eternal, holy, loving and perfect.
3. We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death for our sins through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father as the one Mediator between God and man, in His present rule as Head of the church and in His personal return in power and glory.
4. We believe that the salvation of lost and sinful men is a gift of God, separate from men’s works, and is received through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, bringing regeneration by the Holy Spirit and producing works acceptable to God.
5. We believe that in partaking of the Lord’s Supper, believers proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. The bread symbolizes Christ’s broken body and the cup symbolizes the new covenant in His blood.
6. We believe in the present ministry and gifts of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a godly life.
7. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.
8. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across racial, ethnic, geographical and class differences. Concerning the basic Christian doctrines there must be unity, but with non-essentials there should be liberty, and in all things there must be charity.
