Chelsea Community Kitchen/Network of Community Food Providers
Chelsea Community Kitchen, as the "Network of Community Food Providers," began operating in the city of Chelsea over 25 years ago. Our network organization is a small, volunteer- run soup kitchen Our current hours of operation are Saturdays from 8:00AM – 1:00PM. During this time, we serve a light breakfast and a nutritious hot meal at 9:00AM and 11:00AM respectively. We operate with foods provided mainly from the Greater Boston Food bank as well as donations from local retail operations. Project Bread and the Chelsea Hunger Network support our organization as do other volunteer groups in the area.
Chelsea Community Kitchen/Network of Community Food Providers seeks to provide nutritious meals in a warm and caring environment, free of charge, no questions asked, to anyone who comes seeking nourishment. We hope to build relationships and offer companionship as well as food.
While many of the Board members are Christian and many of our volunteers come from religious organizations, Chelsea Community Kitchen/The Network of Community Food Providers is non-denominational. We serve to all who are in need regardless of race, creed, sex, or national origin.
