The objective of the organization is to work for facilitating the poor to rise from poverty and vulnerability through self-help and collective action towards improvement of their environment, livelihood patterns and proper prioritization of their lives.
The CAMP initiative was started in Ponnur, Guntur District in 1992, by a team of committed individuals drawn together by their concern for the deplorable conditions of Dalit, Tribal & fisher folk residing along the seacoast in forest areas of Guntur and West Godavari districts.
