Christian Hope Network
Christian Hope Network (CHN) is a member center of Christian Helplines International, based in Tamp Florida.
Our primary ministry is a crisis helpline, where trained volunteers take shifts on the phones to answer calls that come in. We have a worldwide intercessory ministry on the Internet, as well as in postal mailing. Once a month our intercessors on our postal mailing list receive an encouraging newsletter, 30 prayer requests, and praise reports. Our HopeNet intercessors online receive prayer requests and praise reports on a daily basis. We have a Senior to Senior Care Call ministry. Our senior volunteers offer a friendly Care Call once a week or as needed to homebound seniors. We offer three support groups; 1. Caregivers 2. Bereavement 3. Cancer that meet one Saturday a month. There is ongoing training for all volunteers, and many have been with us since we began in 1989. We were already in place when 9/11 happened, and the Red Cross and area hospitals gave our helpline number to people who desired additional help. We are a para-church ministry, we offer help to churches and ministries through the use of our phone bank. We did the full follow up for the Billy Graham Crusade in Queens last year. We call churches throughout the NY area to get them involved in the yearly Day to Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, which Robert Stearns of Eagles Wings Ministry, and Jack Hayford started. We visit a nursing home during Christmas season. We work with an area High School that offers a free Thanksgiving Day dinner to seniors. We reach out to our community and to the world. A Christian Hope Network has been in existence in Kenya for 6 years. We have helped with training so that they do the same work we do here. We help support two students there. We are all volunteers, no one is paid. We are blessed to serve the Lord.
Our mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Nations, to heal the brokenhearted, to give hope to the weary, to be a light in the darkness.
