City Kidz

Organization Description:

City Kidz is a non-profit Christian organization that assists disadvantaged children living in the inner city. At City Kidz Saturdays the focus is on providing a fun, entertaining and exciting atmosphere that teaches positive attitudes and behaviours founded on Christian values and principles. The children, ages 3 to 12 that attend each week can expect an action packed program filled with songs, games, prizes and crazy antics by the leaders and hosts. Children who live within the service area also have the opportunity to receive a ride to and from the City Kidz Playhouse located on Sherman Ave. N. by one of the big red City Kidz buses. Presently City Kidz runs four sessions each Saturday to accommodate more then 1000 children each week. As well as having an opportunity to attend the Saturday program, each child receives a personal home visit by one of the visitation volunteers. Home visits give our volunteers the opportunity to build relationships with the children and families and provide physical, mental, emotional and spiritual support to children/families in need. If you are interested in learning more about City Kidz, come experience our program first hand at our Saturday Tour. Mission Statement:

We exist to increase resiliency and inspire big dreams for Canadian children living in low-income communities by providing inspirational experiences and nurturing personal relationships, one child at a time.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

We are people of Faith: Our Christian faith compels us to respond to the needs of our children, focusing on those who experience the highest levels of adversity with the least amount of resources. As we respond, we believe that God transforms lives in partnership with our actions. Ephesians 3:18-19

We are a community of Hope: We have a confident expectation that each child will rise to their full potential and realize God ƒ‚ ‚’s purpose for their life. This inspires us to bring hope to children and to ignite their dreams. Jeremiah 29:11, Philippians 3:14

We are servants of Love: Because of God ƒ‚ ‚’s love for us, we love children regardless of race, ability, religion or economic status. We believe that to increase resiliency and inspire dreams we must demonstrate unconditional love through nurturing personal relationship one child at a time. 1 Corinthians 13:7- 8a
