Clara' House of Love

Organization Description:

CHL is a nonprofit organization that was organized in 2002 by Rev. Joan Redfearn and her husband Roosevelt Redfearn to battle the issue of homelessness and poverty in the Charlotte area. CHL is committed to fighting the endless cycle of homelessness and subsistence living. The vision of the former CEO was to provide training, job, and housing referrals for those in need. Moreover, the aim of CHL is to provide spiritual counseling and mentoring to underprivileged families and individuals. CHL understands that a stable family life is the primary infrastructure to a successful individual who is able to become a viable member of their community; to that end, CHL is committed to providing counseling, leadership, and social skills that will enable our clients to lead a more productive life. CHL will provide computer access for education and job search.

Mission Statement:

The mission of Clara House of love is to feed the hungry, assist the homeless and to help alleviate low-wealth by providing quality educational and job training support to the homeless and low to moderate income leveled persons in the community. Our aim is to change the construct of merely providing handouts to offering a hand up. Clara House of Love is a faith based organization that seeks out the lost, sick, meek, unwanted, unloved, and unknown by ushering them into our loving arms, and guiding them into the arms of God who can heal all their pain.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in one God and one faith. We believe that Jesus is the Son of the Living God of Israel and that He died for the remission of our sins. We believe that all humanity has the ability to be saved through the work of Jesus Christ. We believe that it is our mission to spread the Good News of salvation.
