Mission Statement:

The vision of Cornerstone Schools is to provide a Christ-centered, nurturing and academically rigorous education for the young people of Washington, D.C. Our campus is built on the core principles of spiritual growth, academic excellence, discipline, personal responsibility, and community involvement. We seek to instill in GodÂ’s children a lifelong joy of learning and to equip them with the knowledge, skills and values necessary to become leaders who serve others in light of Christ and His truth. Cornerstone Schools aim to reflect the cultural and economic diversity of the communities they serve and to become a cornerstone of hope there.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

At Cornerstone, we believe each child should have the opportunity to reach his or her full potential. We begin by integrating faith and learning through an outstanding academic program. During our extended school year, we emphasize basic skills in the core subjects of language arts and math. In addition, our curriculum focuses on critical thinking to produce young people who can make wise decisions throughout life. All Cornerstone students study a foreign language, and class work is reinforced with mandatory homework. Our parents also commit to being involved, both through helping students at home and volunteering at the school.
