Craig Shields Foundation

Organization Description: 

Each year the Craig Shields Foundation hosts a back to school event-"Community Cuts for Kids," at the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club, Monsanto YMCA and The Lessie Bates-Davis- Neighborhood House (Mary Brown Center), in E.St Louis, IL. Volunteer barbers and stylists offer their time and skill to provide fresh haircuts and hairstyles for school age youth. As supplies are available, youth are also given backpacks, school supplies, snacks and beverages. There is a host of entertainment, information, giveaways and photo opportunities for the entire family to enjoy.

The Craig Shields Foundation mission is to establish self confidence within inner city youth, by providing significant support, vital resources and educational opportunities to enable them to reach their desired level of accomplishment. The foundational purpose is to create opportunities for youth that inspire dreams, develop passion and shape leaders for our community.
