Dance 411 Foundation
The Dance 411 Foundation mission is to foster the well being of urban youth and adults through self expression by providing quality education and exposure to the art and discipline of dance, drama, & music. With strong roots in the East Atlanta Community, the Dance 411 Foundation was established in 2004 as the Journey Arts Program.
A dancer all her life, Journey Art’s Founder and Artistic Director Samara Michelle, M Ed., wanted to create a safe place where children can have access to life skills education through different performing arts programs.
Over the years, Journey Arts has partnered with a number of local and national organizations, including the Fulton County Arts Council, the Lighthouse Foundation, and Wachovia Bank. Recently the program has gained primary support from Dance 411 Studios.
Dance 411 Studio founders Sindy and Edward Schneider have been offering community programs in the form of studio scholarships, donated space and senior programming since the studio began.
The newly formed Dance 411 Foundation offers the community two primary programs. The first, the Journey Arts After School & Outreach Program, geared to take our quality programs in the forms of performances, workshops and classes, to Atlanta area schools and organizations. Journey After School is where we provide academic enrichment, homework help and performing arts education.
