WE BELIEVE:
The Bible is God’s Word to everyone. Written by human authors, it was created by divine inspiration of God, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible to be the infallible truth, rule of faith and practice for the believer. It is the final authority for guiding men, women and children of faith in God and for living a holy life of obedience to God. We believe in the rightful submission to God ordained authority, but will hold God’s laws higher than man’s law and will always obey the higher law when the two conflict. Human government is established by God and is God’s servant’ to “do good” and to “punish wrongdoing.” We therefore recognize the legitimate authority of human government, as God established it.
(1 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Daniel 2:20-21; Daniel 5:21; Acts 5:17-29; Romans 13:1-7, Titus 3:1-7.
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He is one God but manifested as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; 1 Peter 1:2.
We are made in the likeness and image of God. But through Adam’s disobedience toward God, sin came into the world. The sin nature separated us from God. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:13, 23)
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, and lived a sinless human life. He offered Himself the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on the cross, and rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He then ascended to heaven, to prepare a place for us.
(Matthew 1:23, Luke 5:35, Acts 2:32-33, Romans 1:4; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3).
Salvation is a gift from God. We can never make up for our sins by good works. Salvation is freely given to anyone who chooses to receive Jesus Christ personally in their heart, confessing their sins to Him and turning from their evil way. The moment a person receives Jesus Christ as savior by faith, they receive eternal life. We cannot buy or work for our salvation, because Christ paid for it with His blood. Our works and good deeds are a fruit of our salvation, the continuing work of Christ on this earth and a thank you to the Lord. (Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9; Col ossians1:10-12; John 14:12,16; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26)
The Holy Spirit is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to those believers that ask. We believe that when we place our faith and trust in the Lord, and the Holy Spirit—our Counselor and Teacher, will direct us in the light and the truth of Jesus Christ. (Matt 3:11; Mark 1:7-8; Luke 3:16; John 1:26; John 14:16-17, 26; Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:4, 38-39; Acts 10:44-46; 11:15-17; 15:5-7; 19:1-7)
Water baptism by immersion is for those that believe in Jesus Christ. It is an outward expression and a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (Matt 28:19; Luke 1:35; Acts 8:36-39; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12)
Tithing a portion of all that is given to this ministry. Other than it being a requirement among Christians, tithing a portion to other organizations is our expression of sincere appreciation of what the Lord has given us.
(Malachi 3:8-12; Luke 6:38)
Even though this is Destiny Point’s Statement of Faith and Doctrine, we believe the “Body of Christ” as a whole is united in the essentials of a faith centered on Jesus Christ, even though many have different views in non-essential areas. For each of us is part of the body of Christ, not just one kind of part but many parts (many gifts) working together in unity to accomplish the will of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
Destiny Point Women’s Home will not turn away anyone because of religion that is needing help and is serious about changing their situation and serious about following the programs we have established. We are the hands, feet and voice that Jesus will work through to provide healing and restoration for hurting women and families. It is our sincere desire and prayer that those we encounter will experience God’s unconditional love, the assurance of forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus Christ.
