Door of Hope

Organization Description:

Door of Hope (DOH) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, faith based organization providing transitional housing for homeless families in greater Los Angeles. Founded in 1985 as a safe and caring residential community, DOH serves homeless families, who are given the chance to get their lives back on track. In 2014, DOH opened Hope Villa, which will enable us to serve a total of 26 families at any given time, as they move from homelessness to permanent housing. Last year, Door of Hope served 55 families (128 children and 72 adults), with hundreds more alumni and graduates served through follow-up case management ad special events. We expect to serve at least 65 families this year through direct program services and another 300 individuals through follow-up case management. Door of Hope is one of only a few organizations that provides quality transitional housing to homeless 2-parent families, single fathers with children, and single mothers with children, with special accommodations for victims of domestic violence.
