FAITHCHILD seeks to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the children and youth of Los Angeles. We desire to see a generation saved, transformed, and empowered by the mighty work of God through the preaching of the Word and through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Bible. We acknowledge all that it teaches in its entirety. We believe that it is inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the infallible Word of God. We believe God speaks to us through His Word.
We believe that there is one God. God is three persons in one: The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is eternal and has no beginning and no end. He is all loving and all just. God is perfect in every way and His will is perfect.
We believe in the deity of Christ Jesus (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His atoning death on the cross (I Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection from the dead on the third day (John 11:25; I Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father God(Mark 16:19); His personal return to earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16).
We believe in the existence and reality of sin in our world and in the fallen nature of mankind. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. In Christ alone we find salvation and forgiveness of sins.
We believe that there is both good and evil. We acknowledge the existence of the Devil, who makes war against the saints of God. We acknowledge that we are not in a battle against flesh and blood but we are in a spiritual battle against the principalities of darkness. We believe that God has given His children authority, through the power of Jesus Christ, over the Devil.
We believe in regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by Gods grace through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16-19; John 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5). We believe that it is through this faith and grace that we become Children of God and are given eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. That God will raise up the saved for eternal life and God will raise up the lost for eternal damnation. We believe that God does not desire for anyone to be lost, but He wills that all would believe on Him and be saved.
We believe in the present power of the Holy Spirit. We acknowledge that the Holy Spirit is gifted to every believer and follower of Christ. We acknowledge His gifting to the Church and the body of Christ. Without the power, conviction, sanctification, and regeneration of the Holy Spirit we can accomplish nothing for the Kingdom of God.
We believe in the Church. We believe that God ministers and speaks His word through the church. We acknowledge the authority God has given to our local church leaders. We believe that Christians are called to do life together in community through the Church.
We believe in the great commission. God has called all Disciples of Christ to proclaim the Gospel of salvation to the lost. God calls Christians to be a light among the darkness. Believers are called to love all people through the power and the fruit of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. God does not need to use Christians to spread His Word but he chooses to give His children the privilege of ministering in His name.
