Fellowship House of South Camden

Organization Description:

Fellowship House of South Camdens Childrens program is governed by a threefold vision - Family . Faith. Foundation. Family. Fellowship House is an extended family, where children feel secure both emotionally and physically in a safe, fun and loving environment with consistent structure and boundaries. In addition, Fellowship House supports parents and caregivers in raising their children. Faith. Fellowship House nurtures individual faith in the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. Faith in Gods truth is taught through Bible lessons, skits and art. The children are also instructed on the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. These spiritual graces are practiced to develop godly character, sometimes using conflict resolution as a teachable moment. Foundation. An engaging academic program equips our children for present and future success as they carry out Gods purpose in their lives. Tutors assist with the completion of homework, thus inspiring confidence, improved attendance and performance in school. Enrichment programs such as reading, music, dance, art, cooking, environmental science and technology develop the childrens appreciation for culture and the arts and sciences. These programs also recognize the special, individual abilities of each child.

Mission Statement:

We bring the children of South Camden and their families into fellowship with God and with God's community, by providing opportunities for spiritual, academic, social and recreational enrichment.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

We believe that God loves the world so much, that He gave His only Son, Jesus, to die for our sins, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Because we believe this, we want all to come to know a life-changing, transforming relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord. Many groups and agencies help people, but only Jesus can truly change hearts and lives from the inside out. Therefore, we seek to encourage children, youth and adults to come to know Jesus and be empowered to live victoriously in their everyday lives. We seek to faithfully follow Jesus ourselves, and as part of that following, invest our time and talents in the ministry of Fellowship House.
