Food For Thought Toledo
Food for Thought is not about solving hunger... it is about building relationships! It is about feeding the hungry physically and spiritually. The number one enemy the homeless fight is loneliness.
We are an organization of people who care about others and want to help those in need. We believe serving can change both those who are served and those who are serving. And we believe anyone can serve.
More specifically, we provide brown bag lunches (prepared Friday nights at the church) to our friends on the streets of downtown Toledo near the main public library every Saturday morning at 10:30. We also operate a mobile food pantry, and a stationary food pantry located at our church partner, New Harvest Christian Church.
Food For Thought's purpose is to be a gateway between poverty and prosperity.
Food For Thought's mission is to serve those in various needs despite their position in order to develop relationships that aid in reconciliation and redemption.
Food For Thought's vision is that everyone realize their worth through serving others.
We operate out of a church, 95% of our board is comprised of Christians, at least 75% of our volunteers are Christians, and we conduct ourselves and our organization within guidelines and bylaws that fall well within a Christian worldview, but we do not have a statement of faith.
