Freedom House

Organization Description:

Freedom House is a Christian residential program designed to reach out to women who are struggling with addiction to drugs and alcohol. Our program helps women who have chosen to stop using and have gone through some type of short-term treatment, but need a long-term program to help them maintain their sobriety. These women have their children with them during this twelve-month program. We believe children develop much better in the care of their own mother than in any other situation. It is our desire to assist these women in being the best mothers they can be and change the outcome of their children's lives forever.

Mission Statement:

Freedom House is a home where women and their children can live together in a supportive, structured, Christian environment for 12 months as the mothers work on their recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Our women complete a discipleship program that will enable them to understand addiction and the attitudes and beliefs that took them down the road of spiritual and physical poverty. Through this biblical curriculum the women will learn how to break-free from behaviors and beliefs that bind them to this lifestyle.

Organizational Statement of Faith:

We believe the Bible is the word of God and is the greatest tool of instruction for life. Our curriculum for the women and children is Christ-centered. The families all attend church together and are involved in service projects, learning the Christ-like value of giving to others in need.
