GoodGuides Youth Mentoring of North Florida
GoodGuides Vision:
The Goodwill® GoodGuides™ youth mentoring program envisions a nation in which youth experience nurturing, positive relationships and community support that enables them to develop to their full potential with the capacity of making informed, responsible decisions as involved members of the community.
Overview of Program
Provide career planning and holistic development of at-risk youth between the ages of 12 and 17.
At-risk youth characteristics:
• In foster care
• In poverty
• In risk of dropping out of school
• Are minorities
• Have disabilities
• Have a history of truancy
• Have incarcerated parents
• Have inadequate supervision
• Have a history of delinquency
• Have other significant barriers and/or special needs
Every youth participant will have:
• Individual assessment interview, goal setting, and an Individual Success Plan to optimize the mentoring experience
• Individual mentoring and/or group mentoring at least twice a month focused on self-awareness, personal development, interpersonal skills enhancement, decision making, healthy lifestyles, and career exploration
